Step ()  When looking for a replacement spa pump follow these steps:
(a) Look for the label provided by the original electric motor manufacturer (Figure ) shows an "A.O.Smith" label indicating 230 Volts and Amps are 12.0/4.4 indicating 12.0 high and 4.4 low.
(b) Identify the voltage required (115 volts or 230 volts).
(c) Most motors operate at 1725 RPM for low speed and 3450 RPM for high speed.
(d) Identify the amperage and ALWAYS choose a replacement motor with the same or higher amperage on high speed.
(e) Some single speed motors (at 3450 RPM) are dual voltage 115/230 Volts. All our motors are 115 volts or 230 volts. Look at the wiring diagram on your motor and see if yours is operating at 115 or 230 Volts and select the proper voltage from our tables below.
(f) You can always replce a 2-speed motor with a single speed motor, just select the proper voltage for your wiring.

Example: Figure shows an "A.O.Smith" label indicating 230 Volts and 12.0 Amps High Speed (Amps are 12.0/4.4 indicating 12.0 high and 4.4 low). The label also shows the wiring diagram indicating how to hook up low speed and high speed.
Note: Your spa manufacturer did not make your motor. Your motor was made by one of these manufacturers "Century", "Magnetek", "A.O.Smith", "Regal Beloit", "Emerson", "Franklin Electric", "GE", "Centurion", "SNTech", "Dynatech", and "LX". The manufacturers are required to show the same information on their name plate labels.

NOTES:
Pump Horsepower:
(cd) Horsepower is the continuous duty output power of the motor or the pump load to the motor.
(spl) Horsepower is used by the hot tub industry (for marketing reasons??).
(bd) Horspower is the motor's maximum load (exceeding this load will burn out the motor).

Model numbers with suffix (-1) indicates the motor is single speed.

Model numbers shown on Table 2 and Table 3 indicate discharge straight up.
Model numbers with suffix (-3) indicates the discharge is to the right.
Model numbers with suffix (-4) indicates the discharge is to the left.

No O.E.M. dealers or distributor discounts with limited offer prices.

All pumps are not provided with unions, unions sold separately. Unions are identified by plumbing dimensions (like 1.5" or 2.0"), but these numbers ARE NOT the physical outer pipe dimensions. These numbers indicate the waterflow volume going into and out of the pump. Please use part numbers as identified for your application.

All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician.
All plumbing work must meet I.A.P.M.O., UL 1563, and all local codes and regulations and must be performed by a licensed plumbing contractor.

Watkins Manufacturing Corporation have built over one million hot tubs and spas through the years. They manufacture in Mexico Address: Paseo Norte, Chilpancingo, Centenario, Tijuana, B.C., Mexico. The company re-branded to Watkins Wellness in March 2016. The company manufactures the Endless Pools® line of aquatic fitness products, and is also the world's largest manufacturer of hot tubs, including Hot Spring™ Spas, Hot Spot™ Spas, Caldera™ Spas, and the American Hydrotherapy Systems spa brands, Fantasy Spas™ and Freeflow Spas™. The Watkins Wellness dealer network extends into all 50 states and more than 70 countries. All spas and Hot tubs need jet pumps to power the jet nozzle and provide hydrotherapy massage to hot tub bathers.

At Acura Spa Systems we manufacture jet pumps for spas and hot tubs to power any spa worldwide. We are also selling our products factory direct to consumers to help minimize the replacement pump cost by eliminating the middlemen. Consumers can navigate through our web site and select the proper pump that operates their spas.

Spa manufacturers do not manufacture pumps they sub contract pump manufactures to produce for them such as LX pumps in China, and many others, Acura Spa Systems still manufacture pumps in Riverside California since 1986. Replacing a Watkins spa pump with Acura spa systems jet pump will never harm your spa or the plumbing of your spa. You may find our pumps quieter. All spa and hot tubs are plumbed with schedule 40 PVC. The PVC pipes are made by a PVC pipe manufacture to meat IAPMO standard and UL standard before they are sold to spa manufactures or plumbing supply distributors. Schedule 40 PVC are made to operate at 40 PSI with impact at a temperature as high as 122 degrees Fahrenheit. No hot tub pump is designed to produce 40 PSI not even at the static head of the pump. For all these reasons, replacing a pump in a hot tub application will never harm the hot tub. When replacing a Hot Spot spa pump with ours, just look at the voltage of the motor and the amperage at 3450 RPM. Always select the new pump at slightly higher amperage if you cannot find the same amperage in our catalogue. For example. If your existing Caldera spa motor name plate says 9amp you may select 10 amp motor as a replacement for your application. Another example if your Endless pool pump name plate on the motor says 12 amps do not select 11 amps motor you may lose hydraulic performances. Some Hot Spring spas jet pumps are equipped with Canopy at the electrical motor compartment. The canopy is connected to a pipe to transfer the warm air out side of the spa cabinet. Warm air generated by the motor winding could be problematic if it stays inside the spa cabinet.

We have replaced many Wavemaster pumps with or WM series. Consumers hundreds when replacing a Hot Spring Spas pump with our pump.
