Our pump motor can reduce the hot tub operating cost to $0.03 per hour (based on the USA national average cost of electricity) while pumping 59 GPM (gallons-per-minute) in filtration cycle. This energy efficient hot tub motor consumes 265 watts on low speed and 3,220 watts on high speed. Our patented motor cooler captures most of the heat generated by the spa motor and transfers it back to the water making your spa as energy efficient as possible. In addition, our patented motor cooler keeps the motor cool by radiating the water temperature to the electric motor.
Our knowledge is powered by 18 patents and over 32 years of experience designing and producing the best spa support products in the hot tub industry.

Using a 5.5kW Heater in the "Caesar" spa, the cost to heat the water by 4°F is $0.44.
Using the motor coolers during 6-hour filtration, we heated 380 gallons of water by 4°F for $0.18.
The spa motor coolers recovered the wasted heat from the spa pump during a 6-hour filtration needed to keep your spa water clean.
We rose the water temperature by 4°F and filtered for 6 hours at a savings of 43% when compared to a 5.5kW electric heater. The electric heater is always needed for fast heat recovery when necessary.
NOTE: The test was conducted indoors with a controlled ambient temperature of 73°F and with a Regal Spa Cover.

When shopping for a replacement spa pump, always ask for the original Magnaflow.

  1. The Magnaflow is designed with a unique 8-vane impeller to dampen hydraulic noise.
  2. The Magnaflow is designed to optimize spa pump performance while using the least electrical energy.
  3. The Magnaflow pump passed all Public Safety tests per UL Standard 1081.
  4. The Magnaflow pump is powered by A.O.Smith, Magnetek, Emerson, Marathon Electric, Franklin Electric, SNTech, Regal Beloit or Century motors and not by inferior quality motors. Even though motor manufacturers may have different physical motor configurations (for example, capacitors and terminals in different locations), all motors are made per our pump performance specifications. Acura Spa pumps are produced and shipped per our model numbers with any of these motor brands.
  5. The Magnaflow series has powered hundreds of thousands of spas of different brands throughout the world since its introduction in 1994.

NOTES:
Pump Horsepower:
(cd) Horsepower is the continuous duty output power of the motor or the pump load to the motor.
(spl) Horsepower is used by the hot tub industry (for marketing reasons??).
(bd) Horspower is the motor's maximum load (exceeding this load will burn out the motor).

Model numbers with suffix (-1) indicates the motor is single speed.

Model numbers with no suffix indicate discharge straight up.
Model numbers with suffix (-3) indicates the discharge is to the right.
Model numbers with suffix (-4) indicates the discharge is to the left.

No O.E.M. dealers or distributor discounts with limited offer prices.

All pumps are not provided with unions, unions sold separately. Unions are identified by plumbing dimensions (like 1.5" or 2.0"), but these numbers ARE NOT the physical outer pipe dimensions. These numbers indicate the waterflow volume going into and out of the pump. Please use part numbers as identified for your application.

All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician.
All plumbing work must meet I.A.P.M.O., UL 1563, and all local codes and regulations and must be performed by a licensed plumbing contractor.

Performance Data

Replace your old spa or hot tub pump with the latest technology from Acura Spa Systems, Inc. We have over 1.3 million spa and hot tub pumps sold and operating for the last 22 years. All of our spa and hot tub pumps are ETL listed and tested per UL Standard 1081. Our long lasting spa and hot tub pumps are the quietest, most innovative, and most energy efficient in the industry. We are the only spa pump manufacturer to sell direct to the public. Since 1987, our hot tub pumps have been powered by Magnetek Motors, A.O. Smith Motors, Emerson Motors, Marathon Electric and Franklin Electric Motors. Our pumps for many years have supplied many hot tub manufacturers such as: ThermoSpas, LifeSpas, Islander Spas, Catalina Spas, Diamante Spas, Life Spring Spas and many others.

Manufacturer of replacement Executive Power defender pumps, hot tub pumps, and spa pumps. Executive 56 frame Power Defender pump and motor. Features:

Acura Spa Systems introduced the 2/6 pole spa pump back in 2003. Using the 2/6 pole spa motor we are able to rank with best results when complete spas were tested at Cal Poly State University in San Louis Obispo. Click here to see test results: energy report. Many hot tub manufactures use a 2 speed motors where the low speed is used for the heating cycle and maintenance mode and the high speed is used for jet action. At Acura Spa Systems, we worked with A. O. Smith engineers to produce a motor to operate at 1000 rpm instead of 1750 RPM, The 1000 rpm and still able to pump 59 GPM at 3.5 PSI to activate the pressure switch. We have done many tests on complete spas and it works great. Now we see Waterway introducing the Power Defender Executive pumps. We are glad to see these pumps on spas in 2017 because consumers would benefit from the low energy consumption. We can supply a replacement pump for the executive Power Defender PD-230E at 3HP as well as the Executive Power Defender PD-340E at 4HP as well as the Executive Power Defender PD-245 at 4.5HP. We have powered many spas since 2003 with the 2/6 pole motors. Many consumers have save lots of money with the 2/6 pole motors. Our Green Executive GEPD is for 2" X 2" plumbing and can be equipped with an energy efficient 2/6 pole motor. Hot tub owners would save over 75% on low speed electrical energy when they compare to a 2/4 pole motors. For $299.95, consumers can purchase a reliable 2/6 pole energy saving pump and motor. The Green Power Defender is 75% more energy efficient than a 2 speed 2/4 pole spa standard motor.
